 About the Opportunity

 We are looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian as an additional doctor for our very busy practice. We have more demand than there are hours in the day. We want to find the right candidate who sees River’s Edge as their new home and who we see as a fantastic new team member. We will be highly competitive on compensation.  About You

 You are a practicing veterinarian, licensed and in good standing with the state of Illinois! (or obtained upon hire) Additionally, you are committed to practicing high-quality evidence-based medicine/surgery and consider yourself a lifetime learner. If you have special interests, that is wonderful; we are always looking to expand the spectrum of service our hospital is able to offer to its clients. You are patient with pet owners, even the anxious ones, and generally have a sunny disposition in the exam room and treatment area. Our team is very collaborative, so if you naturally like to teach others, that is a great addition. In terms of your clinical experience, we are flexible, new grads are welcome as well as veterans of the profession.

The full-time staff is all crossed-trained which really helps when someone takes some time off or become suddenly ill. The team consistently praises the fact that our hospital culture is one of teamwork and not toxicity.  Additionally, the high percentage of long-term team members ensures continuity and collaboration that few other practices can boast of.

 For over 15 years, River’s Edge Veterinary Hospital, an independently woman owned practice has met the needs of pet owners and their fur babies in the Massac County Illinois and greater Paducah area. Our 2,200 sq ft hospital features a dedicated surgery and dental suite and an impressive list of treatment modalities. We make every effort to invest in our clinical capabilities and would be delighted to expand our service offerings if you possess unique skills. From a workflow perspective we have both 15 and 30-minute appointment blocks and do not allow walk-ins.

River’s Edge is located near Shawnee National ...Forest with hundreds of miles of trails and hiking opportunities, as well as 30 minutes from Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area with tons of outdoor activities for those who like the outdoors. We are also located 5 minutes from Paducah, Kentucky with a progressive downtown area, shopping mall, theater, and many locally owned restaurants and shops.
