River Run Animal Hospital is a family-owned, fast-paced small animal hospital in west Charlotte, close to Lake Wylie. We opened our doors in January of 2020, and have been serving the community and their pets ever since. We consider our staff and clients family and treat them as such. We also practice Fear-Free to show our patients the respect and patience they need, and meet them where they are.

Come join our team! We are flexible with your schedule and have part-time as well as full-time opportunity – which can also change over time to meet the needs of your family. We get it – our medical director and managing partner is a “DVMom”! Did we mention: NO WEEKENDS AND NO ON-CALL! Mentorship is available and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The medical director has mentored 2 new grads and numerous preceptors and interns. We love to teach!

At River Run Animal Hospital, we practice the highest level of medicine in a state-of-the-art 5,000 sq ft facility. The freestanding building has two feline exclusive exam rooms, four canine exam rooms, and a comfort room. It boasts lots of windows and natural light – even in the “back of the house”! There is a spacious surgery suite and a separate dental suite off the large, open-concept treatment area. We have digital full-body radiology and digital dental radiology, ultrasound, Abaxis in-house labs, Imagyst analyzer for digital fecal examinations and cytology evaluation, and a large in-house pharmacy. In addition to our surgical load, we partner with local board certified surgeons for more complicated surgeries such as TPLO’s and fracture repairs, performed within our hospital.

RRAH believes in boundaries and values work/life balance, which is a rarity in Vet Med. Charlotte offers a variety of outdoor adventures as well as a big city feel in the uptown area: There is professional football, soccer, baseball, basketball and hockey for the sports enthusiast, and the Blumenthal performance arts and other venues for the music lover. The area around Charlotte offers lots of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, boating and more. The mountains and the beach are also only a 3-­­­­­hour drive away for weekend getaways!

About River Run Animal Hospital

We are a new animal hospital that opened its doors in January 2020 in the growing Eastern part of Charlotte, NC. We are committed to providing exceptional veterinary care and client service. We believe educated owners raise healthy animals and we are dedicated to ensuring that owners understand the range of options that best serves their pet. We treat clients as family members and care for their pet as if they were our own. We are incorporating the Fear Free approach in all aspects of practice and patient care. The practice is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, digital dental radiographs, Imagyst digital fecal and cytology examination, large surgical suite and separate dental suite.
