Ada Animal Hospital is a companion animal general practice just minutes from downtown Boise, ID! We strive for that balance of providing “ivory tower” medicine while being able to work with our clients and their constraints to come up with sustainable treatment plans and help as many pets as possible. 

We are growing and looking for that associate to create a collaborative and balanced environment.  We have an AMAZING staff trained to make YOUR life as the Veterinarian easier! Staff are trained and actually utilize their skills so that you can be the Dr, and they can keep the rest of the day flowing well. 

Our Veterinarian:

Jennifer Norman, DVM - Dr. Norman graduated from UC Davis in 2016, after which she completed an internship in Cincinnati, OH, and then practiced in Ohio for 3 years. While there, she did a mix of General Practice, Shelter, and ER Veterinary work. The diversity of experience showed that her heart is truly in General Practice work - helping families from puppyhood to end-of-life care. In 2019 Dr. Norman relocated to Boise ID to be closer to family and purchased Ada Animal Hospital at that time.

Associate Requirements:

Below is a list of general requirements, but we reallllllly believe in practicing how YOU want and making this career what you always dreamed it could be. So talk to us, tell us what makes you love coming to work, and we'll work to make more of that happen for you. 

• General Practice, you gotta do the GP things! Be a Dr and practice how you want with your patients. We do expect you to be comfortable with general wellness, parasite control, basic dermatology, lab and radiograph interpretation, etc.
• Dentistry including extractions
• Letting Dr. Norman know anytime a brachycephalic breed enters the clinic
• Soft tissue surgery**
        **Look, we know some of you do NOT like surgery...we're willing to work with you. Dr. Norman will crank out those surgeries while you dive deep into that dermatology work up :)

Companion Animal Caseload: 

Canine - 60%; Feline - 30%; Pocket Pet/Small Ruminant - 10%

Don't like pocket pets/small furries or goats? No worries, Dr. Norman will take all those cases. Want to learn? Even better! 

Emergency Duty Requirements:

Ada Animal Hospital does not see weekend or after-hour emergencies. We do try to see current client emergencies during the day within reason - we do NOT believe in overloading the schedule and compromising patient care.

New Graduates:

New Graduates are welcome to apply! We've all been there. Dr. Norman has trained many fresh new graduates in GP settings and can tailor mentoring/progression plans to your skill and comfort level. We are experienced in what you need fresh out of school and would love to welcome you to our practice~!
