Tawas Animal Hospital is a hidden gem on Lake Huron in Tawas City, a spectacular beach town located on the east side of Michigan.  We are an AAHA-certified small animal hospital with an incredibly positive culture. We are looking to add a new graduate or experienced veterinarian to our team.  Recently, a staff member shared, “It feels like a group of friends instead of just co-workers…I’ve never been so spoiled as much in any other hospital I’ve worked at!”  Another staff member said, “I’ve been working with Dr. Harrison for the past ten years.  When he moved to this hospital, I wanted to come work with him.  I like him!  I trust him!”

About Us:

-There is a special family feeling at the practice. education and fun are key values at the hospital; we value everyone no matter their role,

-One staff member shared that our six-month staff training program was not only fun but helped her improve many aspects of her personal and professional life. Another staff member received support and counseling that helped her successfully move through her issues,

-Schedule: 4 days/week, NO WEEKENDS, and out by 6:30 pm,

-You can practice autonomously as a veterinarian,

-We have four well-trained nurses, 3 in school and 3 others who are very experienced,

-Our assistants type notes as you speak with the client,

-We’re fear free,

-2 Assistants for each veterinarian,

-We do small animal, exotics, and avian medicine, and serve over 7,200 clients,

-Recently updated our 6,200 square feet with 4 exam rooms, surgical and dental suites,

-Dr. Harrison is an expert at ultrasound, both abdominal and cardiac, and we see referrals from other hospitals,

-He is a natural-born teacher, and the staff says he is “extraordinarily patient and positive” with everyone; he loves to teach surgery including orthopedics if you’re interested,

-Equipment: digital whole body and dental, anesthesia monitoring, IDEXX, etc.

-We have Smartflow whiteboard that offers seamless communication by providing a bird’s-eye view of each patient visit from anywhere in the practice.  There’s never a question of what step to take next.

-We like to celebrate the seasons as a team: some recent adventures included painting together, doing casino nights/mystery nights, and a visit to an apple orchard complete with  cider tasting, a petting zoo, and a corn maze,

-One staff member shared, “It’s okay if you make mistakes; they want your side of the story.  They always ask “what was your thought process here?” 

-Our owners are very empathetic to family issues and do their very best to schedule things that work for families and employees.

About You:

-Comfortable with 20-minute – 40-minute appointments

-Team Player,

-Passionate about veterinary medicine and enjoys teaching clients and staff,

-Lifelong learner.

Compensation and Benefits:

-Sign-on bonus ($5K), guaranteed compensation and production $100K-$150K,
