Full or part time associate veterinarian needed to join Cary Grove Animal Hospital. We are a high quality 4-doctor small animal hospital in Cary, Illinois (Northwest Chicago suburbs). We are an independent, veterinarian owned private practice. We don't take a corporate cookie-cutter approach to our patients or dictate how you should practice medicine.

Our full-service practice boasts a new free-standing facility that allows us to provide the best medical and surgical care to our patients in a great work environment. We are very well equipped with electronic medical records, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, 2 dentistry units, in house lab, TonoVet, Esoate ultrasound, Cardell surgical monitors, Doppler, modern surgical and dental suites, Class 4 Therapy Laser, access to a traveling specialist that regularly visits our hospital, fully stocked pharmacy and more.

We see a wide range of medical and surgical cases and value veterinarians that want to do full case work ups.  Our clients are well educated and want the best care for their pets. We focus on canine and feline patients but also see a small amount of rabbits and guinea pigs (optional for the new veterinarian). We have an established staff (several here since the practice was first started!) and foster a positive practice culture. Our team will support you and allow you to concentrate on being a doctor. Each doctor is assigned 2 technicians/assistants for the day.

Our appointment schedule includes: 30 min long appointments, 1 hour lunch break, 1 hour mid-day break to write records/make calls/see any drop offs, and 30 mins blocked off at the end of the day for catch up.  This computes to about 15 visits per day our veterinarians see.  Surgery and Dentistry is optional for the new veterinarian.  We have current veterinarians who love surgery, so you don’t have to do it unless you want to!  We do NOT offer boarding or grooming in order to completely focus on medical, surgical and dental care for our patients.  No after-hours emergencies.  

Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, confident in medical work ups, fun easy-going personality, and has excellent communication skills. We prefer a veterinarian with at least 1 year of clinical experience, but will consider exceptional new graduates. We support individual professional interests and would welcome someone wanting to bring new services and skills to our hospital as well as provide solid general and internal medicine services. All veterinarians in the practice enjoy collaborating on cases to help support each other and for best patient outcomes.

Flexible schedule available with full time hours considered 3.5-4.5 days per week.  Full time compensation starts at a guaranteed salary of $120,000-$150,000 per year depending on desired schedule and paid time off amount. Customizable comprehensive benefits package for full time vets including: paid time off (3-4 weeks off yearly for vacation & CE), paid holidays off, health care benefit, generous CE allowance, 401K with 4% employer match, VIN membership, all licenses/dues paid, PLIT malpractice and license defense insurance, and uniform allowance. 

We are also open to part time candidates (2-2.5 days per week) for a guaranteed salary range of $70,000-$80,000 and flexible benefit options.  

Cary, Illinois is a Chicago suburb in McHenry County that is a great place to live and work. Cary is located only a short drive to the beautiful farmlands of McHenry County in one direction and the city of Chicago in the other direction. Cary has many parks, a growing downtown, and highly rated schools.
