We are pleased to announce a tenure-track position in Clinical Pathology at Colorado State University with potential to hire in at the rank of assistant or associate professor commensurate with experience. In part, responsibilities will include support of the diagnostic service at the CSU clinical pathology lab. The clinical pathology service offers a large, varied caseload, interaction with 8 board-certified clinical pathologists, 4 clinical pathology/graduate degree trainees, 8 board certified anatomic pathologists, many other veterinary diagnostic specialists (ex: microbiology, virology, parasitology), and collaboration with an active Clinical Hematopathology service. The position offers flexible commitment to teaching and research/scholarly activity based on the qualifications and career goals of the applicant. Teaching could include a mixture of lecture, discussion and lab-based teaching of DVM students in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and resident training. Research efforts and scholarly activity would be tailored to individual interests and would be expected to align with current research efforts in the department.

Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) and board eligible, or board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists (ECVCP). Candidates must be eligible for a Colorado academic veterinary license.

  • Potential for internationally recognized published research.
  • Potential to garner external support for research.
  • Teaching and mentoring potential and enthusiasm.

 

  • For teaching emphasis candidates:
  • Commitment to excellence in instruction
  • Interest in pedagogical scholarship
  • Clinical teaching and mentoring potential and enthusiasm.

Associate Professor:

  • MS or PhD
  • For research emphasis candidates:
  • Existing area of internationally recognized published research.
  • Demonstrated ability to garner external support.
  • Evidence of mentoring and/or teaching success
  • For teaching emphasis candidates:
  • Evidence of excellence in instruction.
  • Evidence of pedagogical scholarship.
  • Evidence of clinical teaching and mentoring success.
