Livewell Animal Hospital of Bethesda, opening in winter 2024, is a brand-new hospital focused on the highest quality medicine and best-of-class customer experience.
As a full-service animal hospital, we offer x-rays, ultrasound, and state-of-the-art surgery and dental suites to handle urgent surgical needs. We have an on-site pharmacy and laboratory capabilities to provide immediate access to necessary medications and perform basic diagnostic tests.
The 4,000-square-foot hospital will be located in The Camille Apartments in downtown Bethesda, just a short walk to the Bethesda Metro Station, Bethesda Row, and Woodmont Triangle. It will feature modern, open spaces, with bright elements to support a fear-free, comforting environment for our furry friends and their family members.

Partner & Lead Veterinarian Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in Maryland
4+ years of experience as a veterinarian required
Leadership/management experience is a plus
Have the ability to lead the team through a variety of cases
Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation with clients
Comfortable providing (and teaching associate veterinarians) general surgery and dentistry procedures
Partner & Lead Veterinarian Responsibilities
Build a strong client-first and collaborative practice culture
Hire hospital staff to include; hospital manager, veterinary technician, and other hospital support staff in partnership with SVP talent acquisition and operational support teams
Deliver excellent patient care and ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices
Ensure doctors effectively communicate physical examination findings, diagnosis, and treatment plan, and educate clients on preventative care
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and keep necessary logs up-to-date
Monitor associate doctor performance and stay up-to-date with changes in veterinary medicine through continuing education
Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to deliver quality care and exceptional client service
Ensure all staff treat clients and patients with care and respect.
Partner with the Hospital Manager in managing hospital financial performance
Positively represent the hospital in the professional and local community
