At Seattle Humane, we’re more than just a shelter – we’re a community of animal lovers dedicated to making a difference.
Home of the Schuler Family Medical Center, Seattle Humane is leading the way in high quality, high volume spay/neuter operations and is a leader in caring for infectious disease in our local shelter community.
Our mission is to promote the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography. If you’re passionate about animal welfare and want to be part of a team that truly cares, we’d love to meet you!
We’re on the lookout for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. If you have a heart for animals and a knack for veterinary care, this could be the perfect fit for you. In this role, you’ll be a key player in providing top-notch medical care to our furry friends and supporting our lifesaving mission. You’ll work alongside our veterinarians to examine, treat, and care for animals, perform diagnostic tests like blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs, administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments with care, monitor and nurture animals before, during, and after surgery, keep accurate medical records and ensure everything is documented properly, educate pet owners about their pets’ health and care, help with the intake and assessment of new animals, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, opportunities for professional growth and continuing education, a supportive and friendly work environment, and the chance to make a real impact on the lives of animals and their families. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
Come join us at Seattle Humane and be part of something special. Together, we can make a difference every day!

Founded in 1897, Seattle Humane proudly promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need. We are one of the region’s leaders in animal adoption, education and welfare.
Seattle Humane is more than a shelter—we are a community resource center, providing adoption services, a pet food bank and support for pet owners, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and wellness exams, humane education for all ages and more.
Approximately two thirds of the pets in our shelter come to us through our Lifesaver Rescue Program. Through Lifesaver Rescue transfers, pets get a second chance to be connected with a loving family, and we support other shelters in Washington and across the country that lack space or resources to care for them.
All of this work is made possible by the support of a generous community, and through our outreach, advocacy and services we strive to ensure that animal companionship is accessible to all.
In 2022, we celebrated 125 years of saving lives and completing families. Learn more about our rich past and present, and our vision for the future.
