Are you tired of never leaving your shift on time and/or working with insufficient support staff? Are you tired of working for a faceless corporation who doesn't appreciate how amazing and essential you are? Are you tired of working for a hospital that doesn't provide free snacks (we do!)?
Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital (REVH) is seeking a full-time emergency veterinarian to join our team of 10 doctors. REVH is a privately-owned 24/7 emergency hospital, plus we also currently offer scheduled Urgent Care appointments 3 days a week (with plans to expand based on demand).
All full-time doctors work a 3-day work week, and schedules are regular (not rotating) with shifts grouped together and long blocks of time off. We average 3-4 support staff per doctor. **All doctors come off the floor 1 hour before shift end to allow time to finish records and treatments and leave on time**.
REVH is an employee-focused hospital. ER has become more stressful and draining in the last several years, and we are making every effort to keep ER the fun, exhilarating, and exciting job that attracted us all in the first place! We are proud to offer a non-toxic, inclusive, and fun atmosphere. We have a zero tolerance policy for abusive clients, encourage employees to stand up for themselves and their coworkers, and always have our staffs' backs. All doctors and techs have the authority to defer non-critical cases when needed to ensure the sickest patients take priority. Turnover is low, with numerous long-term employees.
We are fully staffed with experienced ER technicians! Technicians are well-paid, highly skilled, and properly leveraged so that doctors are free to do doctor stuff. All staff members are appreciated, respected, and treated as such- we value all employees’ input and offer a collaborative and mentoring environment.
We recently completed a building addition, a parking lot expansion, and added an additional exam room, an employee pet kennel and a dedicated ICU. Our hospital includes a full in-house laboratory, DR Xray, ultrasound, telemetry, isolation ward, and a surgical suite fully equipped for all soft tissue surgery, including electrocautery, Voyant Vessel sealer, and state-of-the-art patient monitoring equipment. We have 2 Snyder ICU cages, and an OGSI oxygen generating system. We do not have specialists on staff but we have IM ultrasound and endoscopy available usually within 24 hours.
REVH is in beautiful tax-free southern New Hampshire, minutes from Boston, mountains, or the seacoast. We are a privately-owned, well-established but still rapidly growing 24/7 emergency and urgent care hospital. Windham is an affluent but small town, and we have many repeat clients who are motivated and have the means to provide the best care for their pets. We have a great relationship with all local pDVMs, and we communicate closely with them regarding their patients. REVH is well known and respected in our small community, and in surrounding towns.
The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of emergency experience (or is internship trained) and is comfortable with most emergency surgeries. If you lack experience with emergency surgeries but are eager to learn, we will mentor and train the right candidate. Our support staff is trained in handling and treating exotic pets. While we do not require exotics experience, special consideration will be made for applicants with exotic interest or experience. Above all, the ideal candidate is a good communicator, gets along well with others, and doesn’t take themselves too seriously!
Compensation includes:
Generous base salary plus monthly production bonus (No negative accrual)
3 weeks PTO, plus 2 additional paid CE days
