For Pet’s Sake – The Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital of Atlanta is seeking a full- or part-time veterinarian to join our growing practice. We are located in Decatur (Atlanta Georgia metro area). Our practice exclusively treats avian and exotic pet patients, including parrots, rabbits, rodents, ferrets, snakes, turtles, and lizards.  Exotic animal expertise not required but a desire to learn and grow is.

Our Practice:

• Established in 1988, For Pet’s Sake has an excellent reputation in the community for providing care to exotic pet patients. Our doctors have a combined 50 years of experience working with exotic animals.
• We recently relocated to a new 5000+ square foot facility.

• Flexible vacation days, shared holidays, and the ability to swap regularly-schedule days with the other veterinarians.

• Our team is transitioning to EzyVet software in June, which will allow easier scheduling and recordkeeping.
• Our practice has no overnight or Sunday calls. After-hour emergencies are referred to a nearby emergency hospital or to the University of Georgia.
• Laboratory includes Abaxis, iSTAT, and IDEXX blood machines for in-house testing.
• Our dedicated surgery suite is equipped with an EKG, capnograph, IPPV ventilator, doppler, and pulse-oximeter for gold-standard anesthetic monitoring. 
• We have digital radiography that integrates with our practice software.

Associate Veterinarian Position Full Time Benefits Package:

• Competitive salary, with full-time positions starting at a base of six-figures.
  • salary to commensurate with experience.
  • 32-40 our work week including rotating Saturdays and weekend responsibilities of patients.
• Production option with no negative accrual.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance available after 90 days. We pay the first $500/month of your plan.
• Up to $2000 CE stipend per contract year.
• Liability insurance through AVMA PLIT.
• Memberships in AVMA, GVMA, AAV, ARAV, ABVP, and AEMV.
• State License fee.
• DEA license fee.
• 401(k) with matching dollar amount up to 4% of you base salary (eligible after one year).
• 10 days PTO for first year, accruals allowed.

Part time Associate Veterinarian Position

• Benefits and Salary to commensurate with days scheduled and experience.
• Hourly “relief” type employment also available.

Decatur is located just east of Atlanta, GA. It offers all the dining, shopping, and social activities of the city without as much city traffic. While most of our clients are from the Atlanta Metro area, we do have people travel from hours away with their exotic pets.

Exotic animal expertise not required but a desire to learn and grow is (and a valid DVM or equivalent degree eligible to be licensed in the state of Georgia).
