Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, invites applications from qualified individuals for a part-time or full-time Clinical or Tenure-track faculty position in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level.  State of the art equipment is available on site and includes digital radiography (Eklin DR & Fuji DR, CR), Toshiba Aplio i800 ultrasound, GE Lightspeed VCT 64 slice CT scanner, Qalibra Canon Aquilion large bore 32 slice CT scanner for large animals, fluoroscopy, and a MiE Scintron equine nuclear scintigraphy scanner with various collimators.  The MRI Scanner is a 1.5T GE LXi used for small animal and equine patients.  The facility also offers on-site Varian Clinac 6 EX radiation therapy with IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy).  The successful applicant will join a team of 3 board certified radiologists, 4 residents in training, 1 MRI technologist, 2 veterinary technician specialists, and 3 veterinary technicians.  Starting in 2025 the senior resident will stay on as a visiting assistant professor for one year. Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree and board certification or completion of a residency program registered by the American College of Veterinary Radiology or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.

The successful candidate will actively participate in the learning, discovery and engagement activities of the PVM and VCS department. Learning:  Participation in lectures and laboratories in the DVM and veterinary nursing curriculum; clinical teaching in the Purdue Veterinary Hospital (PVH); participation in the training of house officers.  Clinical:  Providing clinical service to patients admitted to the PVH (typical time commitment: 30-50% for tenure-track faculty, 60-70% for clinical-track faculty); instructing and supervising veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, and house officers; building strong relationships with referring veterinarians.  Discovery: All faculty are expected to collaborate on clinical research projects.  Tenure track faculty are expected to develop an independent research program. Faculty also participate in university-wide graduate programs (MS and PhD).  Service:  Participation in committee work, professional organizations and community service, delivery of continuing education programs, and other appropriate activities are encouraged. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.  A background check will be required for employment in this position.

The new David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex includes three components located just east of the existing Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine:

  • The David and Bonnie Brunner Small Animal Hospital (adding 65,000 square feet to the existing small animal hospital facilities in Lynn Hall)
  • The David and Bonnie Brunner Equine Hospital
  • The David and Bonnie Brunner Farm Animal Hospital
