Opened in 1995, and located in Chillicothe, MO, Young Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned mixed animal practice, operating at approximately 75% small animal and 25% large animal.

We currently have two full-time veterinarians and are looking to fill two additional full-time positions.

In 2021 we completed a 4000 sq. foot addition of an incredible new hospital onto our existing clinic.  We are fully equipped and have the space necessary to practice the high quality veterinary medicine our doctors are accustomed to.

Chillicothe is a safe and relaxing town to live and work in. The area offers lots of excellent outdoor events and activities, with hunting, fishing, and hiking in nearby state parks and game lands nearby. Our town is located approximately an hour and a half away from downtown Kansas City.

What we are looking for:

As our busy practice has continued to grow, we are in need of two additional full-time veterinarians.

We have a large haul in area for working cattle equipped with a hydraulic tilt chute as well as mobile trucks with a portable chute for farm calls.  We also have equine stocks and all the best equipment for practicing high quality large animal medicine, as we strive to remain technologically up-to-date. 

Our small animal hospital is equipped with four exam rooms and one comfort room. We have a large treatment area, surgery prep, and surgery suite with surgical laser. We offer digital x-ray, a full dental suite, multiple ultrasound machines, cold therapy laser, and complete in-house diagnostic labs.

Our surgical services range from basic spay, neuter, and surgical AI to complicated orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. We perform routine annual wellness exams and vaccinations as well as complicated internal medicine work-ups. You'll be able to discover your passion and thrive in our diverse clinic environment. We are open to allowing you to pursue the areas of veterinary medicine you are passionate about and would be willing to let you focus on the species you are most interested in.

Qualified candidates would be required to work 4 days a week (7:30-5:00) and every third Saturday from (7:30-12:00). Emergency call will be required once every three weeks with additional compensation in addition to salary.  

Most importantly, an intensive mentoring program will be offered upon hire for the first 3 months of employment, but mentorship will continue to be provided throughout your time with us. We believe in a team-oriented approach and often collaborate on cases and surgical procedures. Our doctors are easily approachable and are happy to discuss, teach, and share opinions. We also want to learn and look forward to mentoring our new associates who intend to practice high quality veterinary medicine. 

Applicants must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree or equivalent, from an accredited university as well as Missouri licensure and USDA accreditation.
