Mixed Animal Veterinary Technician (Full-Time) | Colorado Equine Clinic / Colorado Small Animal Clinic

Littleton, Colorado, Colorado Equine Clinic is a privately owned, family-operated veterinary hospital located in Littleton, Colorado. Established at our current location in 1994, we serve a growing region within the Denver metro area and operate without corporate ownership or external shareholders. Decisions are made locally with long-term stability and patient care as the priority.
Our equine service focuses heavily on performance horses. We have invested extensively in modern equipment, including updated digital radiography, anesthesia monitoring, and dental systems. We believe in equipping our team with high-quality tools and maintaining strong clinical standards.
In March 2026, we are launching the Colorado Small Animal Clinic that will initially operate two days every other week, with planned growth as demand increases. This full-time mixed animal technician position offers the opportunity to participate at the ground level of that expansion within an established and stable practice.
This role combines equine technical support (majority of weekly schedule) with small animal clinical leadership on designated clinic days. On small animal days, you will work directly with the small animal DVM to deliver efficient, high-quality care and help establish practical workflows as the service develops.
This is not a high-volume corporate environment. You will work closely with doctors and ownership in a small, collaborative setting with meaningful input into how systems are built.
Benefits include:

$24–$26/hr DOE

Contribution toward health insurance through marketplace plan

Retirement package

Paid time off

Uniform allowance

Discounted cost of goods

$500 annual stipend (FTE) toward your own animals’ care

Reimbursement for continuing education initiatives at a rate exceeding many competing practices

If you are seeking clinical variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing mixed-animal practice in a boutique environment, we encourage you to apply.

Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT/CVT/LVT) strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to run anesthesia independently

Experience with digital radiography and routine dentistry

Proficient in venipuncture and laboratory sample handling

Experience assisting with routine surgical procedures (spays/neuters and general procedures)

Comfortable working with horses or willing to develop equine skills

Ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic clinical environment

Strong attention to detail and medical record accuracy

Willingness to take initiative and operate without constant supervision

Professional, accountable, and responsive to direct communication

Equine work may involve early mornings or later finishes depending on caseload.

Watertown, New York,

Personable veterinarians wanted for a well-established, currently 4-doctor, mixed animal practice in northern New York. We have positions available for small, large, or mixed practitioners. We see dogs and cats in the hospital and commercial livestock (mostly dairy cows), pet livestock, and horses on a mobile basis. The only thing that we don't see are exotics and pocket pets. We are currently in a great position to expand our equine clientele!
We are looking for amicable small, large, or mixed animal veterinarians to join our team. We practice high quality medicine in a home-town atmosphere. We have plenty of support staff with 6 customer service representatives, 6 licensed technicians, 3 technician assistants, a surgery technician, large animal assistant, practice manager, and janitor. We have cultivated a great team and provide the best work/life balance possible in this beautiful area.
Position details include a large, renovated hospital with DaySmart (Vetter) software, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, high speed dental unit, full in house IDEXX lab, oxygen cage, isolation ward, small and large animal ultrasound, company vehicle for large animal work, equine dental equipment, and much more. Opportunities are available to develop your interests – ultrasound, physical therapy, acupuncture, equine, etc.
Watertown, NY is close to the St. Lawrence river, Lake Ontario, the Adirondacks, and we are only 30 minutes from the Canadian border. It is a great area for outdoor sports enthusiasts as year-round recreation abounds. Hunting, fishing, snow sports, water sports, hiking, camping, and the list goes on. Watertown is a small city with a stable economy due to the nearby Army base at Fort Drum. We are also an easy drive to the big cities of Syracuse, Albany, and Rochester.
New graduates are encouraged to apply. Full time salary will be dependent on experience but no less than $100,000 base. This also does not include all the excellent benefits. ProSal can also be considered. Salary is renegotiated after 6 months, then annually.
Equine Externship - Year Round | Littleton Equine Medical Center

Littleton, Colorado, Littleton Equine Medical Center has provided professional veterinary services to Denver, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region since 1950. Today the practice has evolved into a state of the art, exclusively equine hospital and referral center.
Our practice proudly offers a long standing and strong externship program. Through this opportunity, externs are closely associated with a group of equine professionals with over 150 years of combined experience. Additionally, the externship program helps to expose our practice to bright minds and cutting edge ideas from around the world.
Rotating Services
As a student, wide and varied clinical exposure is essential. Our program is designed to offer participants a chance to learn from individual practitioners in each area of service. A typical week includes a mix of in-depth lameness, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, field service, sports medicine, preventative medicine, intensive care case management, and (seasonally) reproduction.
On-site complimentary housing is available in the turn of the century mansion that serves as our hospital headquarters. These accommodations increase exposure to hospitalized and emergency cases.
Our externship program is for veterinary students enrolled in an AVMA accredited school of veterinary medicine and is generally a two week visit. May through October is reserved for third and fourth-year veterinary students. All other months are open for all veterinary students.
Our practice consists of eighteen full time veterinarians and five interns. The practice is equipped for most surgical procedures and offers full service medical and ambulatory care as well. Preceptors participate in many aspects of patient care, and are assigned to a different clinician each week.
You will be able to observe clinicians in diagnostic evaluations, radiology, surgery and treatment of hospitalized patients. We also integrate preceptors into our emergency medicine and surgery service. In addition, we will expect you to be available at the hospital at night and on weekends to participate in emergency duty with the clinicians on call. Preceptors are also included in monitoring and treatment of hospitalized intensive care patients, and our emergency surgery team both at night and on weekends.
We strongly encourage student participation in case discussions during the Monday morning, 6:30 am, staff meeting, and are happy to entertain questions and discuss cases during clinical evaluations as long as it does not interfere with communication between the clinician and client. Application Process
Students must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited school of veterinary medicine.
Please send a letter of intent, resume and three possible dates of availability to Adriane Traver at students@littletonequine.com .
