Our veterinary clinic is seeking a dedicated and passionate veterinary student who is eager to gain valuable mentorship and hands-on experience. As a veterinary student extern, you will have the opportunity to shadow experienced veterinarians, assist in surgeries, perform medical procedures, and interact with a variety of animal species. This externship is designed to provide you with real-world experience in a clinical setting, helping you develop essential skills and knowledge that will benefit your future career as a veterinarian.

We are committed to providing a supportive learning environment where you can ask questions, receive guidance, and enhance your clinical skills. You will have the chance to work with small and some pocket pets, gaining exposure to different treatments and practices. This externship will also give you insights into the daily operations of a veterinary clinic, including client communication, medical records management, and teamwork.

Ideal candidates should be enrolled in a veterinary medicine program, enthusiastic about learning, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals are essential. About Animal Medical Center of Park Hills

A small privately owned practice 1 hour south of St. Louis. We have 2 full time doctors, with stable support staff (4 receptionists, 5 veterinary technicians, 1 assistant/floater). We offer health insurance, IRA matching, license and dues paid, mentorship offered. In house-digital radiographs, ultrasound, dental machine, large treatment area, separate lab and pharmacy areas, a dedicated surgery room, separate cat ward and dog wards, separate isolation room, and we use Idexx for our in house and referral labs.
