Externs are expected to assist doctors and technicians with the daily operations of our hospital, including placing catheters, giving medication, observing outpatient appointments, and scrubbing in to elective and emergency surgeries.  During the day, you will help perform daily exams, including TPR's, and administering medications.  In the evening, you will be asked to assist the overnight doctor and technicians with patient care and after hours emergencies. Externships are open to students attending any AVMA accredited veterinary school in the US and overseas.
